The bridge, that was built in the thirties of the last century in Baghdad, was taken down today by a bombed truck.

It’s so horrible, that bridge represents many things for us it’s more than a bridge , it’s one of the symbols or sights in Baghdad.
It’s so dishearting and so stabbing , what else? what worse could happen ?

I could not write a comment on the photos..It was so heart breaking

I cant believe my eyes!!! That should be a nightmare, Its not just a bridge,Its a symbol for allot of great things about Baghdad,Now that im shading my hot tears i cant close my eyes and accept this. we should do something yaaa naas!! I have my on reply on the 18th of April but it will be a peaceful one.

the destruction of this great has only one meaning i guess ,it means that devils want us to leave our country but nothing of that is going to happen,whatever they did with our beloved country will supply us with more and more power and more insisting to love our country -iraq- because this means that iraq is a great country because if it was not so they will not think to hurt even a bridge which is a solid material,even the bridge means for all iraqis something more than that.oh my lovely country tears of blood is droping instead of salty water what can we say only prying to allah to defeat all the enemys of iraq inside and outside iraq….ameen

هنالك شك كبير في طريقة التفجير ومغزاه, حيث أن الصور تبين سقوط منطقتين من الجسر إلى النهر, فكيف يحدث هذا والشرطة تقول أنها كانت شاحنة واحده وأنفجار واحد,, فكيف سقط الجزء الثاني.. والذين فجروا الجسر يريدون قطع المعبر الوحيد للزائرين العابرين من شرق بغداد إلى الكاظمية وكذلك ليقطعوا طريق القادمين من الكاظمية إلى شرق بغداد لأغراض الدوام أو غيرها حيث لايبقى إلا العبور على جسر الأعظمية أو شارع حيفا وهما منطقتان ملتهبتان.. وخوفي أن يؤدي هذا إلا مايحمد عقباه أو يدفع ثمنه الأبرياء.. الله يحفظ العراق وأهله..

I was thinking of summarizing my feelings with two words No Comment but as I was thinking of writing this I realized with a few moments what the Iraqi people suffered and had to bear within the last 4 years and I couldnt stop my tears from falling on my keyboard, I wished they could distinguish the fire in my heart but they didnt.
What can I remember?! The oldest ancient in the world getting devastated and robbed! A city and country thats burning everyday! And the most important thing is my cousin that was assassinated without any reason and left 3 daughters and young wife behind with unknown destiny! Or my brother in low that left my sister and his two sons and a daughter that didnt even have time to feel what having a father means! Or their 80 years old mother that lost her two sons in one day! Or my other cousin that was just graduating from the medical school and was not addressed Doctor yet when he lost his life also for no reason! Or my other cousins that had to run away to other countries seeking for a place where they can sleep without thinking about tomorrow and what might happen to them! Or or or or !
I couldn’t stop thinking of how we used to gather and laugh and have fun time, neither could forget how we suppoerted each other in the hard times.
Why our families, friends, and neighbours that were surrounding us are disappearing like this? And if we survive another day, whom else we are going to lose tomorrow? Will we end up alone with merely memories? What debts we are amortizing and when will it stop? Is there anybody has any answer??????

If they were thinking that we are going to get weak becasue they destroyed a bridge they are totaly wronge, we are ( iraqi People ) are more powerfull than to be affected by this, please every body, donot cry and don’t drop tears this will give them the chance to hurt us more.
Instead, think how we can beat the devils from the goverment and the americans at the same time.

عمل جبان ذلك الذي ادى الى انهيار جزء كبير من جسر الصرافية، لكن هذا ليس غريبا، فهناك محاولات عدة احبطت لتفجير هذا الجسر، اراد الارهابيون من خلاله طمس كل ما هو موروث من حضارة العراق وشعبه، لكن السؤال الذي سيبقى يطرح نفسه بقوة هو من الذي يقف وراء هذه الاعمال الجبانة، واين دور رجال الامن والقائمين على خطة فرض القانون، ذلك القانون الذي منع دخول الشاحنات بجميع انواعها الى قلب العاصمة خلال ساعات النهار؟؟ المسألة بحاجة الى اكثر من وقفة واعادة النظر بمجمل العملية الامنية والسياسية، وهنا نؤكد على الثانية لأنها الاساس فيما وصل اليه العراق والعراقيون، ندعو الجميع الى اعادة النظر في رؤيتهم واعادة العراق الى سابق عهده، مودة ورحمة ورأفة وحب وجمال وطبيعة… اللهم استجب لدعائنا انك السميع المجيب

Every Iraqi who is patriot will be sad and shed tears on this and on every event happening in iraq. there are thieves in power, useless government 4 years in power with no progress because they want it like this and to stay like this. There main ambition is to divide Iraq. None of us have ever thought previously that Iraq will not be one. There will always be a united Iraq what ever they do there will always be the GOOD.May God insha-allah send us a good person in power that gets rid of the filth in power. Each loyalist to the United iraq will want to be in power just to help our people not live and let others die.

Ever since the months prior to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, there have been a few reports in the newspapers that the Central Intelligence Agency was casting aspersions on the intelligence the White House was relying on to justify the war. The CIA has never given a position on whether the war is needed or justified or said that Bush is wrong to go to war. But doesn’t it seem much more likely that the CIA is an extremely right wing organization than a left wing one? After all, even if the people working for them and at least a lot of the leadership really wanted a war for their own reasons, there are a lot of reasons for them to not want to tie their credibility to what they know is faulty information. They and their personnel, present and former, could use other means of promoting the Iraq war, and still be motivated to make the statements in the media. If the CIA got behind faulty information, they would have to make a choice between whether they would be involved in scamming the American people and the world once the military had invaded Iraq and no weapons were found- so: 1) Imagine the incredible difficulties involved in pulling off a hoax that weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. Imagine all the people you would have to be able to show the weapons to- the inspectors from the UN / the international community, the American press, statesmen, etc. Then imagine the difficulties of substantiating that story to people who would examine it- the lack of witnesses to a production plant that made the weapons or to transportation operations or storage of the weapons during Hussein’s regime of them. 2) If the story fell apart upon inspection or the CIA tried not to hoax it at all, imagine the loss of credibility they would suffer. The CIA, it is safe to bet, does not want to be known to the American people as a group that lies to them to send them to war. Even within the CIA there could be disagreement among people about how involved they should be in promoting the war or the neo-con agenda more broadly, so the CIA would have to worry about lying to and managing its own people after trying so hard to get them to trust their superiors in the agency, and perhaps there simply might be too many people in the agency who knew enough about what was going on in Iraq to know if someone was deceiving people to promote this war.
So there is a lot of reason to be cautious against being seen as endorsing what they knew was false intelligence even if they were very strong supporters of going to war.
Granted, its certainly possible the CIA could have changed their minds about the war, as a lot of people have, and could now be trying to move the nation closer to withdrawal.

قد يقول البعض ان الجسر مجرد حديد ولا يهم تدميره والمهم الناس متموت وانا اقول نعم المهنم مو بس الناس متموت وانما كل شيء عدا الناس هو ملك للناس وملك للعراق وحرام من يدمر مبنى او جسر او شارع وهو بالنتيجة ملك لكل عراقي وكانه يسرق مال العراق وشعبه اما لجسر الصرافية فانا لي ذكريات معه والعراق له ذكريات اكبر فعمره اكثر من سبعين عاما شهد كل تاريخ بغداد الحديث من انقلابات وتغييرات سياسية وغيرها وظل شامخ بين النصب والابنية والجسور وحرام هذا التاريخ يدمر علمود اطفال همجيين فكروا لنفسه لاي سبب كان

It is really terrible thing, I cannot forget the time my friends and I spent near that bridge.Many of us consider it as a symbol of Baghdad.I would like to send the KILLER a small massage.(GO TO HELL DEVIL).You have made things worse.Thats if, and if , he is a human being!
