Freedom of Speech and Raheem Al-Maliki
Iraq nowdays February 20th, 2008God bless your soul Raheem Al-Maliki. He wrote this poem few months before he was assassinated and he read it in the convention palace in Baghdad. I think once you hear the poem, you will know why he was killed. May he rest in peace.
You can download the audio file of this poem here.
So, you are free to say whatever you want in Iraq, but you will pay for it.

Wow, what a great video. What a great poet he was. I had never seen him laugh before. He could have been a great leader. Allah yuru7ma.

Despite the fact that he had some sectarian poems before, he was on of the best poets of his time.
I remember him once going to Ramadi and meeting with Abu-Risha.
I think it was kind of suicidal move of him to read this poem in the convention palace in front of all those people and TV cameras.
